Urban population growth in various global, national, aPlanningnd regional aspects and the need for living, working, employment, and leisure have revealed the necessity of the existence of this field in order to plan, design, and construct buildings and other structures in the country. The Department of Urban Planning was introduced in 2002 at Urmia University, as a leading university in the North West of Iran, and later its name was changed to Urban Engineering. In 2012, it issued a call for admission at Master’s level. At present, 201 students are studying Urban Engineering at B.Sc. level and 38 students are studying Urban Planning at M.Sc. level. The department has proudly accepted top-ranking students in Entrance Exam for its Master’s program. This department has 4 faculty members.
